I did not really know what to expect from my purchase.
My last purchase of speakers was an Altec Lansing 4 speaker plus subwoofer set years ago. I decided to treat myself to this speaker. It is surprisingly easy to use. Bluetooth connected to my Dell G5 laptop automatically.
Decent volume, good base. I have yet to put it through its paces but it is satisfactory so far especially for the price.

I have an iMac, and I was trying very hard to get a soundbar that’s less than 27″ so it can fit right under. This one fits the bill and is reasonably priced. First impression is the build is solid, and everything hooked up rather easily. But the sub woofer is not wireless, but not the biggest deal in the world. The sound quality is definitely better than my stock iMac, although nothing to write home about – I guess you get what you paid for. The subwoofer is relatively punchy so that’s a plus.

I purchased Creative Soundbar, as I need a reasonably-priced speaker for my new desktop, and I don’t like cheap-looking speakers. This one sits perfectly under my HP LCD monitor (see the picture), and the speaker looks good (I also like the blue/green LED lights). Looks much better than cheap speakers from (probably Chinese) brands that we never heard of. I know Creative, and indeed my MB has a Creative chip to take care of the sound, so I thought I can trust Creative in terms of quality. I think the speaker looks good, especially considering the price.

This speaker is advertised as dual purpose of using with a desktop or taking it out as a portable speaker, since it has a battery. You can connect either with Bluetooth or usual Audio connector. I tried Bluetooth with my iPhone and I can play music in my iPhone without any problem. So I could take it out for a picnic, relying on its battery, if I want, although I am not sure if I ever do it. I basically use this as a desktop speaker, always powered, connected to desktop with an audio cable.

I previously tried a (less expensive) Sanyun SW010 sound bar, and it was not very good. It was my first and I wasn’t sure what to expect form a sound bar (after having used a good Plantronics headset for years), but it sounded only a little better than a computer speaker. I went back to the Plantronics headset, but my ears were still getting irritated, so I tried this sound bar. Wow, this is exactly what I needed. I listen to YouTube daily, and whether it’s music or talking, the quality of this sound bar is incredibly good by my standards. I only use the USB connection, so I can’t speak to using Bluetooth. Pros: (1) high quality sound (and bass); (2) USB connection; (3) instructions were clear. Cons: (1) at 16″ it’s larger than what I wanted; (2) ends are tapered instead of square; you can still stand it on its end, but sound doesn’t work well that way, so it needs to rest horizontally. The only issue I had was that when I first pressed the power button on, it didn’t power up and I thought something was wrong. I came to discover that I simply didn’t press long enough. Seems like it really needed 3-4 seconds to power on rather than the 2 instructions indicated.

Let me preface this review by saying that I purchased this for a friend whose speakers in his laptop died, but I did play with it for a couple of days before he came over to get it. The price was nice considering it was a Creative product and had a good set of features. I thought the audio could be a little brighter, but overall it is a solid product. The Bluetooth connection is sometimes a little janky, but that could be due to the older version being used. I had read a few professional reviews that said it wasn’t loud enough, but honestly if you can’t hear it, I have to question what kinda of noisy hellscape they tested it in and whether they needed to have their hearing checked. This is not going to be the soundbar you want for pumping music out for a giant party, but it certainly doesn’t whisper either. The size could be a bit smaller but it isn’t huge, nor is it heavy. All in all it is serving it’s purpose, it sounds decent enough for what it is designed and being used for and most importantly, my friend is happy with it!

  6. KPettijohn

Easy set-up, rich sound. Nice, simple look to the sound bar and subwoofer. Volume is decent, but wish it could increase a bit past the upper limit. Would buy again for a small room. If you don’t find an “audio out” port on your tv, try “headphones” which worked for us.

  7. Ram Customer

I bought this as it has a good rating on consumer reports and a nice price. It does sound pretty decent, but the treble is very muted as C.R. had stated. The issue I had was if you were cranking some music it would cut out to only the subwoofer. The sound bar would completely quit working as if it overloaded somehow, even at 20 out of a max 35 volume. I noticed I could hit any EQ button and it would come right back on. I reached out to the company through Facebook messaging showing them a video of it failing like it was and asked them for help more than a week ago and never got a reply at all. My thinking was that if they sent me a soundbar only replacement I could have just sent them that defective part and it would be more sustainably fixed and less burden for them. Them completely ignoring my request for help told me they didn’t want my business, so I returned it and bought another from a different company. I do not recommend this due to what I went through.

  8. Western

I had difficulty getting sound from my Vizio TV to play through the soundbar but eventually succeeded after watching YouTube connection video. The sound quality is very good and the price was excellent. I would recommend this product.

  9. Eric

For the price, I had low expectations of only delivering sound at low levels without any fidelity at all. I was so wrong. For the money Im wondering if this was the best bang-for-buck speaker I’ve ever bought…? I needed it to plug in via USB-C and give me an option other than my headset. It did that easily. Then it did this weird thing where I unplug it and it’s a portable Bluetooth speaker. Above and beyond! I love this little thing… particularly at a price point that rivals a couple lunches at Qdoba. More of this please.

  10. Chris M.

This is pretty straightforward for a quick setup and connection. The audio quality is nothing crazy and it wouldn’t work well to fill a large space, but I used it for a small space and it did exactly what I wanted it to do.
