The LCDi3 shares the special low-resonance Magnesium frame of the top-of-the-line LCDi4. Advantages are both greater rigidity for better bass, and cleaner midrange response.

Borrowing from the award-winning LCDi4 design, the LCDi3 features a cast magnesium housing with an open back design for greater transparency and deep, clean bass extension. FIrst these are for i-phone I have a new SE and as others have said if you use the supplied lightning cable with DAC built in these sound phenomenal. They are extremely detailed you will hear the crack in a singer’s voice the plucking of guitar strings, the clarity and detail of these drivers bring out sounds in your music you didn’t know was there. These are open back so you can hear everything around you, that is not a big deal if you are aware of this and pull these out in a quiet place. These are pretty comfortable I got them to stay in place most of the time with the supplied rib that keeps them in your ear, but because of the size every once in a while if I yawned or moved my jaw one would pop out but they also have some over the ear hooks. Build quality is good with the magnesium body but there was some obvious glue on the seams.

The first one was missing the Bluetooth cable and had a burnt metallic smell, so I know they were used, and abused, yet they were sold as new. Naughty. The 2nd ones seem more new, but also missing the BT cable. The ad says it comes with the BT cable. Very naughty!
