What customers say about C 1000 S:
“The versatility of the C 1000 S makes this an extremely popular model, and one ideally suited for all kinds of recording and live sound applications.”
“It is perfectly adequate for a number of applications including drum overheads, acoustic instruments, piano etc.”
“It is also indestructible with rugged metal chassis and special mic clip to keep it securely attached…”
Highlights
The nearly indestructible condenser has a sturdy metal chassis and specialized mic clip to keep the units securely attached to stands. The C1000 S’s gold capsule and XLR plugs make it humidity-proof for all environments.
Rather than relying on an expensive 9V block battery, the C1000 S now runs on two AA batteries at 120h and offers two gain settings, three frequency settings and two polar patterns: cardioid and hypercardioid.
For mobile broadcast use and interview situations, our new C1000 S offers more versatility than ever before.

This is a fantastic Microphone – the value is exceptional. Great for instrument or vocal. I know many other professional musicians who use this mic every time they perform.

We’re using this mic with an additional pop filter (which is standard practice) for voiceover work. As another reviewer mentioned, it has an SM7-like quality to it. This is interesting as, according to the AKG blurb, this mic isn’t especially recommended for voiceover work. I think that’s because of its sensitivity to plosives (pops on ‘p’ and ‘b’ and so on) which can easily be address by the additional pop filter. We like it because it offers a small end address cross section area (akin to that of the Electrovoice RE20 dynamic mic) compared to large diaphragm condenser mics for voice work, which makes it a lot easier to manage script placement and so on in smaller work areas.
