D. Camarda –
I bought this because I’m a nerd. I didn’t want to just make it easy/lazy, and go with the what’s popular, the Shure SM58.
What I like about this mic? Well, it’s brighter and more accurate than my ATR 2100 IMO, which is exactly the reason I bought it.
You pretty much don’t really need an extra windscreen or pop filter with this mic. It’s actually a challenge to make it pop.

Much better sound quality than the mic I was replacing. On off switch is convenient, comfortable to hold and sing with. It was recommend from a friend and doesn’t disappoint.

Sounds GREAT! The sound quality is amazing. My voice sounds identical on the mic to what it sounds like in person. My audience (I use this for a radio show/podcast I do) noticed the clarity of my voice. There was definitive difference in the bass in my voice – there’s a lot less on this mic that the previous one I used. This was rectifiable with my mixer board but if you want a deep resonant tone this might not be the mic for you – but if you want great clarity and sound and seemingly sturdy quality, this is a great mic. I also compared this mic with the Shure SM58 sound wise, and I preferred this mic over that one sound wise – it’s not as muddy – it’s clearer and that’s the sound I was going for so I bought this one. It was a bonus that it costs less.
