If I could rate this a Zero I would. My son has loved Altec headphones since the first pair I bought. They had excellent sound quality especially for the price and they lasted a long time. I cannot say this anymore. This is actually the 2nd pair I bought because I got absolutely nowhere trying to replace the ones we received with the first order. The 1st order sent the wrong color and the wire didn’t work at all. We tried many times to contact the seller for replacements and kept getting an auto-generated email referring me to a website but the website gave you no option whatsoever to request a refund or replacement. We also tried contacting the warranty since we always get that and was unable to get anywhere there either. Since we had such good luck in the past and hoping it was a fluke, I ordered another set – this set’s wire shorted within 2 weeks of having them. And again, we had no luck with contacting the seller or the warranty we bought as well.

Didn’t get the right item, the white version came instead. I already own the white version and I loved them, but they broke. Great headphones but took way too long to ship and didn’t get the right ones.
Gigi –
These headphones were a replacement for a current set by Altec that broke (had them for 6 months and the headset cracked in half and padding came apart). I’m sure they would have lasted longer but they were being used by a special needs adult and took a beating). They have great sound as well as large padded ear coverings. The power cord must be plugged in correctly in order to get stereo sound – which there were no instructions for. So, if you’re not getting stereo, switch the cord around and use the opposite plug. Although the headphones arrived in good condition, the actual box was in filthy shape.
