Description
Audeze’s new Penrose wireless headsets feature both low-latency 2.4gHz and Bluetooth 5.0 systems. But more importantly, our Penrose headset allows you to use both wireless communications systems simultaneously! This means you can do in-game chat, Twitch, Discord, etc., just the low-latency wireless, while talking to your other friends on your cellphone. And the Penrose is derived from our world-renowned Mobius headset, which has received great reviews and many “Top Headphone” awards – Penrose has the same drivers as the Mobius.
Customize your settings
Our Audeze HQ app features a 10 band Equalizer with 2 user-defined presets, Side Tone control, Game vs Chat mix volume (xBox only), Mic mute, Mic volume, OS volume, and easy firmware updating.
Easy-to-find controls
The left cup offers easy control of headphone volume, mic volume, Mic mute, and others. The boom mic is easily removed, and comes with a foam “sock” to reduce breath noise.
Playstation 4 & Playstation 5 compatible
Not only is the Penrose PlayStation compatible, but it also works with Mac, Windows, Switch, Zoom, Skype, Discord, and many other platforms. However, if you need xBox compatibility, get our Penrose X version (which also works with Windows).
Low-latency wireless!
Our low-latency 2.4gHz wireless dongle plus into your console/PC/Mac USB port. Perhaps more importantly, you can use both the low-latency wireless and Bluetooth at the same time.

About Audeze
Audeze started in 2008 in a garage (of course!) when its founders came across a revolutionary flexible circuit material developed for NASA. Realizing this could be a great advance in planar magnetic technology, they first started to make pro audio PA speakers, but dropped this project and started making headphones – the predecessor to the original LCD-2. Taking this first headphone to the Rocky Mountain Audio Fest, it was a tremendous hit, and that success launched the company. Hanging on that garage wall was the 2001 Space Odyssey poster, and that inspired the company’s name. The founders wanted a name that had something to do with a “journey through audio,” so Odyssey would be perfect, and that’s how the name Audeze (pronounced “odyssey”) was born.

Had this thing for a few months, Sound quality is amazing, isn’t too heavy, clamp force is perfect and the material that the cups are made of are really durable and soft kind of like a memory foam instead of a hard packaging foam that my pulse 3d headset had, great build quality, I’m really clumsy and rough with things and I have dropped this thing a few times and nothing has broken so far, the versatility is awesome I love having the option between wireless, bluetooth and aux, the usb wireless dongle works seamlessly on my pc, PS5, and Nintendo Switch. The software is easy to install and use, and saves the eq setup on the actual headset so you don’t have to worry about having different eq setups on each device.
Also the mic sounds decent and has adjustable mic volume as well as playback so you can hear yourself talking, and if you have a mic with aux playback you can just plug that into where the mic would go and your good to go for streaming or voice recording.

I use this headset for gaming and music for the most part. For gaming, the sound is so deep and perfect it amazes me. For music it sound even better. The only problem i have is it sometimes disconnects then reconnects randomly, and some random crinkling that has disappeared the last few days

I really wanted to like this headset after grabbing them on a great deal refurbished. My old Logitech G935 headset has seen better days and this was the planned replacement. I used the headset for a little less than a week, trying to convince myself that it was an upgrade, but in the end I wasn’t able to convince myself. While the sound quality is very good most of the time, there is a VERY annoying crackling sound that the headphones make a few times per minute. It completely ruins the audio experience. I have heard others mention this so it may be a hit-or-miss problem not present on all headphones.
The other issue I had was that these headphones are HEAVY on the head. They have a strong clamping force and after only about an hour they started to feel uncomfortable. At first i thought the detachable boom mic was nice, but then over time came to realize that its just annoying to have to detach and re-attach it instead of just having a retractable mic like the g935.
