Product Highlights Large 32 mm voice coil improves power handling to 40 watts RMS Rare-earth neodymium motor and a proprietary vented voice coil Four arms provide extra support improving linearity Turns any flat, rigid surface into a speaker Product Manuals / Spec Sheets / Downloads Dayton Audio DAEX32QMB-4 Specification Sheet AddThis Sharing Buttons Share to FacebookFacebook Share to TwitterTwitter Share to MoreAddThis 1 Product Description Dayton Audios DAEX32QMB-4 quad arm exciter is built with four arms that extend out from the main exciter body, which allows this exciter to transfer sound to a much larger surface for lower frequency response extension (more b). Also, the arms help to support the magnet/voice coil improving linearity when mounted on horizontal surfaces. A neodymium magnet is employed to create maximum magnetic flux around the proprietary voice coil for increased sensitivity when compared to similar sized exciters. In turn, this reduces power requirements and makes it possible to use very small audio amplifiers, without sacrificing total output. The 1.25″ voice coil allows for more input power, creating rich, dynamic sound. To ensure maximum acoustic energy transfer between the transducer and the surface to which it is attached, 3M VHB (Very High Bond) adhesive is pre-applied to the main body, and the four arms … just peel and stick! Note: An exciters frequency response and sensitivity are completely dependent on the exciters designated surface. Thinner, smaller materials will tend to be louder and create a mid/tweeter response. Thicker, larger materials (with multiple exciters) will be slightly quieter but result in a more full-range sound. I bought these on a whim, hoping I could suspend a stainless commercial “boiler” pan on some small die springs to end up with a low budget ultrasonic parts cleaner. That works marginally well with enough amperage, but what turned out to be really cool is dumping the pan tray and sending it some music! Bass isn’t all that great, but it’s there, and everything else about the sound quality is remarkably good and the volume output is pretty awesome. Bought two more just to play with, want to try thin tempered glass and maybe some honeycomb carbon fiber composite plate, bet with the right combo you could make some really impressive speakers with these, that don’t look like speakers at all!

Purchased to create thin speakers in a room that doesn’t really accommodate traditional surround speakers. Works great in that capacity.

I’ve also deployed the device as an effective “shut up” device against an obnoxious neighbor. The neighbor is a dance studio that likes to turn their music up beyond what could be expected from such an establishment. Simply place on the shared wall, play “Baby Shark 10 hour loop” and viola! Suddenly their loud music isn’t quite so loud anymore!
