Whether you are designing a portable Bluetooth speaker, sound bar, compact desktop speaker, or even a high output line array the DMA105-8 is the perfect full-range for the job. Designed for the highest performance while delivering maximum value, the no compromise design of the DMA105-8 produces true full-range output capability with minimal distortion. The motor uses dual neodymium magnets creating a strong and symmetrical magnetic field providing high efficiency with excellent cone control. The magnet assembly also includes a large copper cap and sleeve to lower inductance and distortion resulting in improved high frequency response. The 2-layer 1″ voice coil is wound on a vented aluminum former providing excellent heat dissipation for high power handling and low power compression. A rubber surround and large spider keeps the lightweight aluminum cone linear with superb mechanical damping. In addition, the aluminum dust cap is attached directly to the voice coil former to improve high frequency response with terrific off axis performance. Holding everything together is a proprietary 12-spoke frame with an extremely open design that has extensive venting under the spider and ample room for high excursion. Furthermore, Dayton Audio designed the frame for all the DMA Series with DIY speaker builders in mind. The oversized mounting flange means that no precision cutouts are necessary. To ensure an easy installation, the terminals are oriented in such a way that no odd cutouts or notches are needed for connector or wire clearance. Finally, the corners have a 1/8″ radius, meaning that for flush mounting you can get a perfect fit using any standard 1/4″ straight cut router bit. For the price of this speaker series I can’t understand why they aren’t more popular than they are. The sound is balanced perfectly, you can hear basslines and voices of every type come through very clearly. I have used these to replace speakers that cost ~ $345.00 each, the bass on those speaker was so overwhelming that is all you could hear over mids and highs. I recently bought 2 more of these same Dayton Audio speakers to make a center channel speaker and then I will have them for a very low cost 7 channel surround. The center channel I have now is from the same high priced company and sounds muddy and is almost useless by comparison.
    Thank you

Well I bought these to make a replacement for one of those Dell PC speaker systems with a sub-woofer.
Sitting on my desk, with NO speaker cabinet these sound good. I am pairing these with the Dayton Audio ND25FN-4 1″ Silk Dome Neodymium Tweeter using a passive crossover. The tweeters sound better by themselves than the Dell speakers. Good enough I am considering ordering two more just to replace the insides of the Dell speakers so I can use them in my bedroom.

This is a very nice speaker for small enclosures. I converted a pair of Projected Sound drive-in theatre speakers for use with my vintage audio collection, and they sound good considering their size. The Dayton is one of the few speakers that would fit the speaker housing and is the only one I could find rated at 8 Ohms. The frequency response is good, its weight is low, and the power handling is in the 35 continuous / 70 peak range I needed.
